Good product in decathlon

Purchased for 30 euros. It is a hiking backpack with different features compared to those that cost 4 - 5 times more, but in many occasions this backpack has perfectly adequate features. It does not have a waterproof backpack cover (purchased separately). I cannot reach the water bottles independently without removing the backpack. The backpack requires the use of the hydration bag to be placed in a dedicated slot in the main compartment. The supports for the bag are on the sides. I do not appreciate the elastic mesh to put something on the outside of the backpack: it is not a solution that gives me confidence (in any backpack) and I would have preferred an open pocket. There is no zip to connect the lower compartment to the main one but the bottom of the main compartment reaches the bottom of the backpack therefore also using the liters of space dedicated to the lower compartment if it is not used. Access to the compartments is easy. The space is fully exploitable. Space is one of the strong points of this product: the value in liters does not always fully explain how much you can put inside. In this backpack, the large opening and the regular internal shape ensure easy use of the space. To make a comparison at “Decathlon”, with the same capacity, the space of the NH300 is used much better than the MH500 (much, but MUCH better!). The system for ensuring the ventilation of the backpack on the back is very basic. The comfort of the shoulder straps is acceptable. The shoulder straps hook quite high up on the back of the backpack, wearing it I felt a “school backpack” fit. Perhaps, on a 30 liters you could think about including a lumbar belt also on the NH300 series to relieve the weight and stabilize the backpack. The external zippers slide well and are quick to find. The materials for the zippers, mesh pockets and other details are a bit cheap. It is discreet enough to be used as an everyday backpack in the city or for the beach. When worn in urban environments, you can think about increasing the protection against pickpocketing by closing the zip sliders with small padlocks (found in Decathlon) or by covering the backpack with the waterproof backpack cover (also available on the price list). It is a solid backpack, with a lot of space that can be used very well, with the options that I consider basic for any excursion, that is, the possibility of storing poles and using a camel bag. In this 30-liter version, the ergonomics are a bit on the edge: it does not cause any discomfort on the back, it is just that it remains a more generalist backpack than a trekking one. Points of attention: back ventilation management to be improved, some slightly too obvious cheapness in the materials. As for ergonomics, it depends on what you want (this way it is practical, with a lumbar band it would be more technical). It would be interesting to also propose a purchase bundle with the backpack cover.

I use the product for daily nature walks. It is more than enough for me even though I also carry a camera and a drone.
