MEH!!!!

After more than a year of use, I find that this bike is not at all up to my expectations! Indeed, I encounter various problems on this bike. The transmission is not very precise, the steering seizes regularly despite recurring adjustments and the cherry on the cake is that a spoke on the rear wheel has just come loose! I find this bike not really at the top in terms of value for money. We've known better!

Much more comfortable than my previous bike, which was made of steel. It makes a difference on rough roads. It works very well on a daily basis to carry my things to work or to do the groceries or other errands. I have done several 100-120 km rides on variable terrain without feeling too tired or uncomfortable. I do a lot of climbs in Gatineau Park. No worries, it can be done without even using the smallest chainring. The bike is very versatile. It is my first bike with disc brakes: especially in rainy weather it works better than my previous brakes. And it is much more pleasant when you have to remove the wheel. I hesitated for a long time before buying it and I have no regrets. I have no opinion about the saddle, which I immediately changed. The service at the Ottawa store workshop has been great in terms of quality and also in terms of speed the few times I have used it.

A great bike!

I first used the bike for a bike tour to France and since then for occasional day trips. So far I have ridden it for about 3000 km. So far I have only had a flat tire twice and had to adjust a dragging brake. The frame is stable and comfortable, even on fast journeys with a lot of luggage. I am very happy with the bike, for €1000 it is an excellent price-performance ratio.

Feedback (9000 km)

Used mainly on the road for commuting + a bit of trail riding. Around 9000 km covered in 3 years. Satisfied with my bike for the use I make of it, good position, sporty but not too much. The 105 group works well and is reliable. The braking is adequate, nothing more. Two details bothered me: the original cassette poorly spaced I find and the seat post carriage which does not allow precise adjustment of the saddle tilt. First defect solved by changing the worn original cassette for a Shimano 105 cassette, still in 11-34 but much better spaced, it has nothing to do with it. As for the second defect, I got used to it a little.

A bike that will break.

Let's keep it simple and factual: Bike purchased in December 2023 Transmission problem more or less resolved with rear cassette change at 2 months December 2024: rear wheel that locks up at a good speed on a cycle path, fall, broken chain, ruined guideline etc. And a good scare. Result at the workshop: €350 for repairs (rear wheel, rear cassette, front fork, etc.). After negotiation, quote reduced to €240. It is not acceptable in my opinion to provide such repairs on a "high-end" bike that is only 1 year old. Argument put forward: wear and tear linked to excessive use and poor maintenance. Use: everyday bike (5-7 km/day), stored in a dry place, 1 outing/month 30-40 km in the 6 summer months. I would still like to thank the workshop teams, who are very accessible and open to discussion. But who have little leverage over after-sales service issues and are accountable to their superiors. TOTAL: very good bike but it will break. And which will quickly inflate the initial purchase bill, rather attractive. If you end up facing such a bill at 1 year, you might as well look at the more expensive competition but where the wheel bearings do not break at less than 3000km! So legal protection contacted, expertise etc. To be continued!

Perfect for getting started with gravel

I had to go back to the workshop twice at the beginning to adjust the front and rear derailleurs. No problems since. I will make a criticism about the double chainring, on certain sections either you put the small one, but you have to go a little too far to the right at the back, or you put the big one but you have to go a little too far to the left at the back... you don't know which one to choose to keep the chain aligned. Apart from that I am very happy with it.

Very good gravel

Complete bike with a good groupset for an unbeatable price. The only downside is the wheels (freewheel that just broke in less than a year). Frame-wise it's great, good fork. Very good tire, decent saddle (quite comfortable). In terms of weight and rigidity I'm very satisfied. The value for money is unbeatable but they must have saved money on certain things. In particular the factory settings which are rubbish (derailleur with stop not adjusted (it could go into the spokes which is shameful), grease not put on certain bearings (especially the rear wheel). The cables were badly positioned and rubbed on the frame which totally damaged it (no more paint) unfortunately, I went to Decathlon to repair it but I didn't get any compensation for the frame. In conclusion: very good except for the settings and after-sales service

Gravel. Very practical. Versatile.

1st Gravel. Satisfied

Very good gravel for a first experience

Used for commuting as well as for sports, I am won over by the versatility of this bike. For an equivalent range, its quality-price ratio is unbeatable.

bad gears

On the first ride I noticed that the gears were rubbing (3 or 4 gears were rattling). I took it to a Decathlon store for service, where they looked at it and told me that this was normal and that I should bring the bike in for the first service in 6 months. After the first ride after the first service I noticed that the 3 gears were not always ok. I would understand that there is one gear, not 3, which I cannot use.

Gravel and travel use

I bought this bike almost 2 years ago, I changed the saddle immediately after receiving it. In Gravel use, we have fun with it, we must respect the recommended inflation pressure to not puncture often. I also use it for traveling, for that I have another pair of wheels, I took Mavic Allroad with Michelin power adventure 36 mm tires. I kept the comfort and these tires are perfect for the road and unpaved cycle paths (no punctures to date)

Good bike

I fell for this bike for its looks (and also because it was on sale...), and for its versatility. For gravel rides in the forest, etc. it is very good, very comfortable. And it allows you to easily ride on very committed paths and to do a bit of road. Only I use it mainly on the road (bike commute) and it is not as versatile as what is promised: heavy wheels that only accept very wide tires (and the original ones can be inflated to max 3.5 bars) - in short, the performance is not incredible. And the tires are not really suitable for urban traffic (low resistance to punctures). In short, a good bike, reliable and robust, but which I would recommend especially if you use it in mountain bike mode (vs. only road like me). I plan to change the wheels to be able to put thinner tires that are more suitable for the road. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!

Wonderful

I am writing this review after more than two years since the purchase (June 2022) with over 11 thousand km traveled. Comfortable and aggressive frame, Shimano 105 gearbox formidable for reactivity, precision and reliability, I will have recorded it three times in these two and a half years. Efficient and powerful trp brakes, I just changed the rear pads after 11K km. Also used in bike packaging with side bags with about 13 kg of load for some trips, on the Trabocchi cycle path and in Liguria always superlative, reliable and performing. I recently converted to tubeless with Vittoria Terrain Dry. The only flaws, the saddle that I changed immediately, the original Decathlon Triban are really uncomfortable and the pedals. Unfortunately even the Triban tubeless ready rims are not great, I mounted some DT Swiss a little narrower and more performing. I conclude the review by saying that I am so satisfied with this great gravel that in June 2024 I bought another, twin taking advantage of a super purchase discount, which I use assiduously together with the first. Highly recommended!

really remarkable. In less than 3 weeks of use I managed to get to rides of over 60 km. The gear change is not very precise (I will take it to be adjusted) but I can say that the bicycle is really excellent.
