Good, insulating mat for bivouacking

Better mat than the roll-up one, but bulkier.

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.

A good sleeping mat

Very comfortable and provides good insulation

Alright

Convenient to carry even if a little bulky

The mat does its job

It fulfills its function. In my opinion, folding is a much better solution than rolling (takes up less space).

good mat

armored, easy to attach, lightweight, definitely more comfortable and better insulating than classic rolled-up mats, unfortunately it will never be as comfortable as an inflatable mattress but there's a price to pay. Trekking mattresses in this weight cost around PLN 1,000, they can get punctured or leak if you get a faulty model, you have to inflate them, roll them up and pack them while you throw the mat on the ground any time you feel like resting. As for R-Value, I slept on it under a tarp and with an additional NRC foil floor in a light frost at night and it was ok but it's a very individual matter so it's worth testing it out for yourself. For comparison, I used to use a foldable Bundeswehr mat that came with a backpack as a back stiffener... well that one was tragic xd If you use a cheap, thin mat it's worth upgrading for little money.

Tested in Iztaccíhuatl

It worked for me on the Izta, I had my doubts since we were going to camp at the base of the glacier but in the end it worked, I didn't get cold under the sleeping bag and the rocks couldn't be felt. Excellent product for its price-quality ratio.

light mattress

lightweight and durable mattress. A slightly narrower mattress would be ideal for smaller people, this would allow for an even lighter mattress that protrudes less from the backpack

Foam mattress

Used for floor exercises, foldable and well padded, good price.

Easy to Use

I have been using Decathlon’s rolled mats for years and I am happy with them. When you open them, they re-collect themselves. To prevent this, you need to roll them upside down and wait before laying them down or put weight on them after laying them down. Also, the volume when rolled up is larger accordingly. That’s why I switched to this product. It is definitely easier to use and a bit more comfortable. My only concern is its durability. The mats are carried outside the bag due to their large volume and their lightness that does not disrupt the balance. They rub against bushes and branches a lot during nature walks. The cylinder models are very durable in this regard and do not fall apart. I hope this one can show the same durability.

What is the r-value?

The R-Value is a measure of the thermal insulation. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress. Please note that the R-Values can be added; this means that you can use two mattresses and add their R-Values.All our mattresses are tested to standard ASTM F3340-18.

What r-value for what use?

R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) onlyR-value from 2 to 3: 2 or 3-season (spring-summer-autumn)R-value from 3 to 4: 4-seasonR-value of 4.5 and higher: Use in all 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitudes)

Comfortable postural support

For a foam mattress, this mattress offers a greater level of comfort thanks to its design and the depth given to the foam by the mould. This specific design allows for 2 cm mattress thickness, giving home comfort and real postural support.
