Excellent, I didn't think that even used alone it would make a difference, I can't do without it anymore. I use it every day under a jacket or alone, and since it fits comfortably I use it over heavy clothing for winter trekking or with a vest.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Filling: 90.0% Grey Duck Down, 10.0% Grey Duck Feather ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Padding - Inner fabric: 100.0% Polyester

How warm is this padded jacket?

This down jacket, worn as a third layer, is certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F, based on standardized testing in a thermal chamber. The test is conducted with the model wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath, and a simulated wind speed of 5 km/h. In static mode, the jacket is rated for a comfort temperature of 41°F.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The fill power of down offers three key advantages for mountain sports:- **Thermal insulation:** The air trapped in the down and feathers provides excellent warmth.- **Ultra-lightweight:** Down is lighter than synthetic insulation while delivering the same warmth, reducing the weight of your backpack.- **Ultra-compressible:** Down compresses easily, saving space.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power measures the down's ability to insulate and trap air, expressed in cubic inches (CUIN). Higher fill power (a higher CUIN number) indicates that the down will occupy more space, trap more air, and offer better insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN or higher (international standard).

How to care for a down jacket?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will likely need washing. Here's our advice:1. Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments at 30°C (86°F), with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Use a gentle spin cycle.2. Tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until completely dry.

Water-repellent property of the component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water-repellent property of a fabric allows water to run off its surface without being absorbed. This prevents the fabric from swelling and helps it remain lightweight and warm. While the fabric of this down jacket is water-repellent, we recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The water-repellent finish is applied to the outer surface (PFC-free) and may deteriorate with use. We suggest restoring this property after each wash.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

After cleaning your padded jacket, we recommend using a water-repellent reactivator spray to maintain the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This will renew the fabric’s water-repellent qualities and optimize its performance throughout the life of your garment.

How to repair your fleece

A tear on a padded jacket can happen while trekking, but it can be easily repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting larger or feathers from escaping. You can purchase repair patches on our website!

Product testing

All our down jackets are laboratory tested in 3 mph winds and worn as a third layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long-sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, helping you choose the option that best suits your needs.
