Effective

Lightweight and minimal size, very practical

A good stove, very light and compact.

It works perfectly with a saucepan, and for one or two people. I haven't tried it with a saucepan larger than half a litre; I think a saucepan of one litre or more would be too big and unstable.

Does not work

Like several other reviews, I found that this stove can be problematic to start. Once started, the heat output drops until the stove completely shuts down.

Disappointing - Poor quality of the thread

We bought this model for a 13-day hike. Unfortunately, we had to do without the stove for the last 3 days because it was no longer functional. From the first time we used it, we had problems attaching the stove to the gas cartridge. Once the flame was on, it quickly went out again each time. When we unscrewed the stove, we noticed that material was crumbling out of the thread. And indeed, with each subsequent use, the thread wore off more and more. Until it was no longer there and it was therefore impossible to attach the stove to the gas cartridge. The 2 stars are for the light weight (which doesn't help with a non-functional stove) and the good service. Returning it to the store went smoothly. Since we have to be able to rely on our stove on multi-day hikes, we are now getting a branded product (at the same price with the same specifications).

Tip top for use…

Tip top for the expected use, ultra light for trekking and hiking.

Easy to use, remember to take matches and a lighter to light it. No loss of flame. Used on a 2-day hike in the morning for coffee and to cook pasta in the evening

Not as good as a cheaper model...

55 euros for a model where you have to light the fire with another spark source while the model below at 35 euros has an integrated gas lighter...

Compact

Very happy with how compact and light this is compared to the other forclaz model. Now everything goes together with gas etc in the cooking pot.

Very good but still expensive

I hope I'm not speaking too soon because I only used the stove for 3 days on a trek. Very pleasantly surprised by the power it can give off, I never used it at full power and the water still boiled in less than 3 minutes! After that, you shouldn't believe in Santa Claus either, in the wind it will be more complicated and I sheltered it with the small insulating foam mat on which I sit, this trick works very well. Another appreciable thing: it cools quickly after being turned off, which is practical for storing it quickly without burning yourself or melting the cover! I hope it will last the distance because some comments suggest the opposite. The only criticism I have to make of this product for the moment is its price, 55€ we are still at the top of the top of the basket of "ordinary" stoves.

At the top and great…

At the top and super light and practical

Which type of cartridge does this mt900 stove use?

This stove meets standard EN521.It must be used only with butane/propane threaded cartridges compliant with standard EN417. Compliant with this standard, Decathlon Forclaz cartridges (100 g, 230 g, 450 g) are compatible with this stove as well as the Forclaz MT100, MT500 and MT500 Remote models. Before use, read the instructions and precautions for use attached to the stove.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge

Set up a gas cartridge in a ventilated place, preferably outdoors and never near a flame, heat source, spark or flammable materials. Check that your stove's gas inlet is properly closed and check the location and condition of the leakproof seal. Make sure that the cartridge is on a stable flat surface. Do not shake.

Setting up the stove and connecting a gas cartridge (continued)

Hold the stove in one hand. Screw in the cartridge with the other by turning it clockwise until it stops, being careful not to damage the screw thread. Follow the same instructions to take off the cartridge. It's normal to hear a small fizzing sound (escaping gas) for less than 2 seconds when connecting the cartridge to the stove.

Storage instructions

Avoid contact with moisture and don’t leave out in the rain. After use or cleaning, store your stove in a dry place taking care to unscrew the cartridge.
