This is my third Decathlon down jacket. The first one is already nine years old and it's still there, a little tighter after nine years because of my physique and not because the jacket has shrunk. The second one is seven years old and the same. The third one, this last one, is fine so far. It has more CUIN than the others, and it feels more 'inflated' and therefore it will retain more body heat. It has more details than the others, such as the drawstring of the hood behind the head or the flap along the entire zipper to prevent air/cold from entering. Or also the suede or velvet-like fabric along the entire collar. The two inside pockets don't even have Velcro to prevent things from falling out. Something that I have corrected by putting two self-adhesive Velcros on them. The outer nylon, despite saying that it is protected against tears, I find it 'very soft'. I find it more delicate than in my other two jackets.
Very hot
Good design and fits very well. Very comfortable. Nice colors. Maybe the price is a bit excessive for the heat it gives. Despite indicating from 0 to -10 degrees .... I would recommend it more for mountains that do not go below 0 degrees or cold cities.
For the price it keeps you warm
So light but very warm! Add a small, short, insulated hiking fleece jacket and a thermal underlayer in very cold weather and you're done. But even without all that it's already very good! The price is a bit high but you quickly forget about it once you have it you can't do without it. We should all have one in our wardrobe

Comfortable and warm
Very comfortable to wear, light and not bulky. I recommend.
Unfortunately, this jacket does not have a very good cut, or rather, it is tighter on my chest and just right in the rest of the part (I have not encountered this with any other jackets). On the other hand, the larger size was terribly big and I looked like a scarecrow in it. The water repellency is interesting, but only for a very short rain (the seams are not taped and after 1/2 hour in the rain it got soaked through - see the product description). In the context of global warming and weather fluctuations, heavy rain is already common even during the winter and it would be more appropriate to tape the seams on such a jacket.
great product, warm even if I haven't had the chance to test it with temperatures below zero. I gave 5 for water repellency because you can't not give a rating, but I've never had the chance to use it in the rain

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 14°F (-10°C) during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its comfort temperature is 0°C in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
A snag? how to repair your fleece
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. We have repair patches that you can purchase!

4 independent Forclaz trekkers and 4 members of Forclaz tested this down jacket during 3 days of trekking in November 2021 up to 9842 ft. altitude near Chamonix in the Mont Blanc Country. The feedback given to us after this test let us validate this down jacket for mountain trekking.
