- This light puffer jacket has been designed for backpacking, yet offers a great design making it perfect for everyday use in cold and mild weather.
- Warmth: From 23°F and warmer, this puffer jacket will keep you comfortably warm and is filled with recycled polyester: easier to wash than a downjacket.
- Compact and light: the MT100 jacket is packable into the left hand pocket. It only weighs 13 oz in size L.

What is the main difference between this jacket and the Forclaz Men's MT100 Hooded Down Puffer Jacket. Is one just down and one is synthetic or are there other differences. Are they both rated to the same temperatures?
Answer:
These are comparable products. In addition to the filling difference, the synthetic jacket dries off much quicker than the down filled jacket. Both jackets have the same warmth promise.

I ordered and received a Men's Synthetic Mountain Trekking Hooded Padded Jacket - MT100 - 5 degrees Celcius. My question is: should the zipper pull be on the left side on a men’s jacket?

The insulation is really remarkable, it completely cuts us off from the outside. A simple t-shirt underneath is enough for me to go out, to ride my bike in this winter. However, in terms of water repellency... I don't know if there was a defect in the treatment of my jacket, but in any case it is really not at all water repellent, the slightest drop that falls is immediately absorbed by the fabric. We are far from the definition of water repellency... (I've had it for about 1 month, and it was the case from the beginning).

it is an excellent product if used for daily city activities, while I would orient myself towards something superior for trekking use: the declared -5° in activity are a bit far-fetched, more than anything else for a question of breathability. in the mountains it is fine for summer use when you remain still at altitude

Durable materials
This polyamide canvas uses 20 denier threads (measurement unit of the thread) and resists up to 20,000 abrasion cycles. Durability is calculated using the Martindale test (Standard 12 947-2). This test is to rub the jacket’s material against another material to observe how the product resists wear. Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 39g/sqm, 20 denier Lining: 100% polyamide fabric 35 g/sqm, a mix of 15 and 20 denier threads.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. You will find it in store and on our website by entering the reference 8817233.
A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or synthetic fibres escape. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
Product testing
In November 2017, 6 backpackers (4 men and 2 women) with part of the Forclaz design team tested this padded jacket for four days in the Southern French Alps.We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for use for backpacking in the mountains.
Storage instructions
To keep the wadding inflated, we recommend you store your padded jacket on a hanger and not folded up in its pocket!
