- This light puffer jacket has been designed for backpacking, yet offers a great design making it perfect for everyday use in cold and mild weather.
- Warmth: From 23°F and warmer, this puffer jacket will keep you comfortably warm and is filled with recycled polyester: easier to wash than a downjacket.
- Compact and light: the MT100 jacket is packable into the left hand pocket. It only weighs 11 oz in size M.
- Water-Resistant, not waterproof: This jacket will keep you dry for a good amount of time under light rain thanks to a water-repellent fabric.

Pretty good
This down jacket does the job: protects from the cold, is very compressible and lightweight. It was used in the evening at 2000 m. I did not test the water repellency, the weather not being suitable (nice cool weather at altitude). In addition, the color is nice and the price too.
The rain doesn't stop much but everything else is fine.
A good warm and light jacket. I also used it for winter hiking in high mountains. It kept me warm (I tried it at about 0--5 degrees, while moving) The pockets are big. The water spray was adequate in light snowfall, but when it started to rain, it was no longer enough. It dries quickly.
Used mostly in mid-season
Even at zero degrees, it is warm enough, comfortable to wear on trips or even for street wear.

It's fine, for mountains and not very cold temperatures.
Light, warm jacket, takes up little space in a backpack. Can be used as a second layer during winter hikes.

Few jackets are as light, comfortable and warm at the same time. I wore it at 7°C and I didn't feel cold. It is true that it would get wet in case of rain but for dry weather it is ideal.

Thermal insulation - warmth
This padded jacket has been certified for a comfort temperature of -5°C during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved t-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars.

Technical information on the wadding
We use 100% polyester wadding weighing 125 g/sqm in the body section and 100 g/sqm in the sleeves and hood. The wadding is made from silicone-coated spiral fibres that make it highly compressible and highly durable. Despite its low thickness, it has high insulation properties thanks to the air trapped inside, and remains lightweight. It retains its warmth even when wet.
Durable materials
This polyamide canvas uses 20 denier threads (measurement unit of the thread) and resists up to 20,000 abrasion cycles. Durability is calculated using the Martindale test, Standard 12 947-2. This test is to rub the jacket’s material against another material to observe how the product resists wear. Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 39g/sqm, 20 denierLining: 100% polyester fabric 35g/sqm, mix of 15 to 20 denier threads
Water repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores.
How to restore water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. You will find it in stores and on our website by entering the code 8554908
Product testing
In November 2017, 6 trekkers (4 men and 2 women) with part of the Forclaz design team tested this padded jacket for four days in the Southern French Alps. We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for use for backpacking.
