Good shoe

Very good hiking shoe with good waterproofing. Very poor grip on wet ground, which is a shame. My pair lasted 6 months for an average of 11km per day. I would definitely buy another pair.

250kms later.

After 250kms, generally satisfied except for a few points: - Compared to my old models already purchased at Decathlon, this one poses a problem for me to find the right tightening, where it has always been simple in the past, here I often find myself redoing my laces 2/3 times otherwise either I am too tight and I lose mobility and comfort or my heel floats slightly while the shoe is my size. - A khaki color would have been appreciated. - Laces a little slippery Otherwise it is a light, comfortable pair with good grip, all that remains is to test the waterproofing over time (very satisfactory for the moment).

Achilles heel problem

It is really important to emphasize that these shoes are not suitable for multi-day hiking. In fact, I did a trail run in Portugal over several days and the shoes started to deform at the back of my heel, causing excruciating pain in the Achilles tendon of both feet, so much so that I had to endure it for 200 km.

Comfortable and resistant

I bought them a week before a week-long scout route in Val Codera with the fear of blisters... they surprised me. Comfortable, solid, waterproof, cozy, practical and 0 blisters Approved

Even better than expected

Proper size, good grip, quite light

very good shoes at an affordable price

Winter ascent of Śnieżka and Szrenica with dry feet, great shoes for the price. The shoes did not come undone as some comments suggested.

First impressions

The boot was very comfortable when I first wore it. The only thing that bent was the tongue on the right foot when I tied the laces, causing friction on the front of the ankle.

Super comfortable and looks great!

I went walking the Camino de Santiago in these shoes, they are super comfortable, no blisters. The lace hooks have been reinforced compared to the previous version, which makes them very strong and much more durable. The soles are excellent for all terrain. AND the cherry on top is the price/quality ratio is unbeatable compared to other hiking shoes.

Nice product

I bought the product to wear in rainy weather, but when the fabric gets stained, it is a little difficult to remove. There was a small color change. It is not a big deal. My foot is comfortable in it. It does not strain when walking.

Very good

It's a bit pricey for the country's reality, but it delivers. I live in Chapada Diamantina, I even hike to go to the supermarket, lol, and it's really good. I'm even buying another cheaper one to keep for specific occasions.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Outer sole of: 60.0% Synthetic Rubber, 40.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Upper of: 40.0% Polyester, 40.0% Acetate, 20.0% Polyurethane ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

What frequency and intensity of hiking?

We have classified our products in terms of performance and features for 3 levels of Mountain Walking:- occasional: around ten hikes per year of about 3 to 4 hours’ duration, less than 6.2 miles and less than 2,297 feet of elevation gain.- Regular: about 20 outings per year. 4 to 6 hours, 6.2 to 12.4 miles, 2,297 to 3,937 feet of elevation gain per outing.- Intensive: more than 20 times a year. More than 6 hours, more than 12.4 miles, 3,937 to 6,561 feet of elevation gain per outing.

Outdoor contact sole

New high-performance sole with our new exclusive rubber blend developed by our experts. More grippy, more durable. The sole is designed for better grip using 3D simulations and then laboratory tested to assess the coefficient of grip on different surfaces and conditions. Field tests in the mountains allow us to do the final validation with a panel of testers. 30% rubber

Waterproofing test

In a laboratory, the boot is immersed in water to mid-height on a mechanical arm that flexes to simulates a number of steps. With this test we can determine a time and number of km that the boot can walk while staying dry. Then we confirm in the field or under the rain, that the shoe meets its promises.

Extended waterproofing

To keep your feet dry, we advise you to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of your boots and prevent water, pebbles and sand from getting in.We advise re-waterproofing your boots twice a year using a re-waterproofing agent (search for ‘waterproofing’ on our Decathlon website) which will help you restore the original water-repellent qualities and help prevent stains on the outside.

Which size should i select?

Some Decathlon stores have a test route.1. Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces, taking care to correctly balance the tightening.3. Check two points:- the heel does not come up before the boot when you walk uphill.- the foot does not slide and the toes do not press against the front when going downhill.4. Try on several sizes and models.Break them in gradually to adapt them to your foot.

How to prevent blisters

Blisters generally develop when the skin is weakened by friction. In order to prevent them from occurring, we recommend the following: - Choose a shoe in your size.- Wear suitable socks- Tie and tighten your shoes properly.- Make sure you tighten or loosen your laces accordingly while wearing your shoes, especially before starting a climb or a descent. - Wear your shoes on a short trip for the first use.

Which socks?

A waterproof shoe will be less breathable than a non-waterproof shoe. Mid-length socks like the MH500, MH520 and MH900 are therefore preferable for absorbing perspiration and reducing overheating.

Optimise the capabilities of your shoes by replacing your insoles

The original insole in your boots is designed to accommodate most feet. A change of insole can bring:1. Improved support: some soles are preformed or reinforced to better support the arch of the foot. 2. More comfort: the insoles can also provide heat and/or cushioning.3. Longer life: restore the support and comfort of your shoes by replacing the insole each season.

How should you look after your boots?

- Leave to air dry.- Remove dry mud with a stiff brush. - Clean marks using a brush and some warm water- Leave to dry- Spray with a re-waterproofing product to restore the water-resistance to the upper.

Product testing

Our hiking shoes are first tested in our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, which also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together several themes, each with their own area and technological tools.
