Wool gloves

I thought they were warmer, but they are only for the autumn-spring period when it is not very cold. In winter they have no efficiency than you can access the phone so much. But they don't keep warm in winter even if you wear them with another pair over!

For everyone

For everyone and for every occasion: to an elegant coat and a sports jacket. Alone or with others, e.g. ski gloves

I wear these undergloves…

I wear these undergloves without gloves on top, in between seasons, to get around town by bike. They are warm, solid and do not take up space in the pocket. This is the second pair that I have bought.

Plastic material that tears

I try to favor merino for its well-known qualities (warmth even when damp, softness, etc.) but also to avoid the pollution of microplastics released by synthetic "polar" materials during washing and at the end of their life. In fact, I hadn't paid attention, but these gloves have plastic cells glued to improve the grip of an object (probably a phone in the minds of the designers since there is a touch-sensitive part on the thumb and index finger). But after only half a day of hiking with a pole in a light drizzle, the plastics tore and were dropped all over the path! We'll come back to the nature protection aspect, alas. It's really not much compared to the pollution in this world, but it's such a shame to buy a product with a goal in mind and realize that you've made a big mistake, that it doesn't make you want to recommend it. The gloves ended up in the bag and my hands were cold. I imagine that for staying in the city or any activity without the need to use your hands, the gloves must be pretty good, but for everything else, from cycling to hiking with poles, you will drop small pieces of pollutants behind you. Bought on Thursday, used on Friday, I would already like to return them on Sunday or manage to permanently tear out the alveoli. Finally, if you don't care about considerations about nature and pollutants, there remains the excessively fragile side of the product.

Excellent for having the…

Great for keeping your hands warm while working outdoors

Grip goes away and not really warm

I got these liner gloves for my work outside because I can't stand the cold and wet anymore because of rheumatism. They were OK at first, even though it sometimes takes a long time for your fingers to warm up. After the first wash, however, the entire grip on the index finger and little finger area came off. Now I don't really need the grip for work, but it's still a shame. I only washed the gloves by hand because that shouldn't happen.

What does the dexterity of a glove refer to?

A glove's dexterity corresponds to its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves have been given a score from 1 to 5 in a laboratory study. The closer the score is to 5, the more the glove can handle objects in the same way as bare hands. In particular, tests were done to measure how easily it is to get a jacket on and open it with these liner gloves.

Warmth

When worn under hiking gloves, these liner gloves will give you 37°F (3°C) of additional warmth. This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable. For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

How is usage temperature measured?

All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 41°F (5°C) to -4°F (20°C) and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions.

How to properly protect your hands from the cold

By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. Consequently, by wearing liner gloves in addition to gloves, several air gaps are created around your hands, which provide effective insulation from the cold. To achieve this, the gloves must be big enough not to compress your fingers. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.

Origin of the wool

We use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing. We built a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment. This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool.

How to maintain your merino wool liner gloves

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool liner gloves at 86°F (30°C) on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry them on a flat surface, away from moisture and all sources of heat. This could damage the fibre and make them lose their shape. Never put them in the tumble dryer.

Warning!

These gloves do not protect against the spread of viruses or microbes.

Product testing

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are appealing, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field because we believe that the only way to continually improve is to test the products under the real-life conditions that you will experience.
