Great but watch out for the openings

I love this bag for its ease of filling and the multiple storage options. It is very comfortable for everyday use. On the other hand, opening the bag is too easy and with a multitude of zips, beware of pickpockets.

Great - for taking a 17" laptop to school, traveling between cities, on trips abroad. It will pass low-cost checks at maximum load with only scraped ears, but I've never had a problem at the airport. Plus, it looks good for urban tourism, so no need to carry a second piece of luggage.

Everything

I love it. The size is just perfect (e.g. also for airplanes), the compartments are good. It looks good, it's cultured for everyday use, but it's also practical for cycling and training.

Good backpack for a day or two

The size of the backpack is ideal for a few days if you don't have to pay attention to where you sleep. The fact that the belt can be pushed into the backpack is particularly good. I don't usually use it, but it comes in handy if you use approx. you need it once. Maybe it could have more outer pockets.

Super comfortable and with easy access

It is very comfortable and with the side zipper, very easy access to the interior.

My favorite backpack

I wore the backpack for 2 years, unfortunately it was killed by an accident with a washing machine (it was all my fault). Because of that I was able to get to know its internal construction. In many places it has protective foam inserted. There is also a thick layer of rubber foam in the shoulder straps. The waterproof bottom retained its durability until the end. The laminate under the side walls of the backpack peeled off over time. This may be due to several visits to the washing machine and maybe the environment of my work, because machine maintenance oil and plastics do not always like each other ;-) In the rain, an external cover is a must (it is not included here). The pocket on the shoulder strap is not suitable for most phones, but it is perfect for putting sunglasses away. This elastic pocket, as well as the two on the sides of the backpack, stretch over time and become slightly baggy (this is probably not surprising when carrying a 1.5L water bottle ;-) The hip belt is quite tight when heavily loaded, but it is more optional. It can be hidden in the pockets in the waterproof base of the backpack, so it doesn't get in the way too much. The interior is spacious, although a strap to tighten the luggage inside would be useful. When completely unzipped, you have access to everything, and this "everything" often falls out uncontrollably. The main pocket is also unzipped from the bottom, so the backpack carried on one shoulder can be pushed in front of you and opened like a typical sports bag. Useful when the backpack is fully loaded and I need to dig something out from the very bottom. It is a bit like a photography backpack, but without an additional cover I do not recommend this use, because the backpack is too flimsy to protect a valuable camera. I carried in it: travel luggage for the plane cabin, equipment for an all-day trip, heavy grocery shopping, archery equipment - the rolltop is ideal for oversized items such as: a bow case and a tube for arrows. photography equipment - I do not recommend this. The only thing it would not fit is an oversized ego, but that is up to individual needs. Maybe there is a suitable suitcase in the shop's assortment :-) I am posting the review on the occasion of another purchase of this backpack. Looking at the price, after 2 years, I have the impression that it is not much for the many advantages offered. Ehhh... the backpack is a bit like a partner. It is not ideal, but I cannot imagine life without it. Best regards :-)

Hiking backpack, 32 liters - NH Escape 500 Rolltop

Perfect city bag, comfortable, practical, easy to pack, plus it has a zipper on the side, so you don't have to open it at the top if, for example, I want to put the laptop in or out. Its only drawback is that it is not at all waterproof, so you need a separate cover.

Simple and effective!

An extremely practical and modular bag thanks to its drawstring that can be tightened. Numerous closures allow you to store and/or access the inside pocket. Small storage spaces at the shoulder straps. I never leave this bag (travel, work, sports)

Very good backpack

Great backpack. Durable thick bottom, possibility of opening wide the side zipper. 2 levels of upper fastening - when the backpack is more or less stuffed. overall I recommend!

A nice rolltop backpack with a simple hip belt. A backpack with a large volume that you can use for various occasions. I'm a little disappointed with the new back system (padding), it doesn't ventilate very well. I would also appreciate better designed additional pockets. Anyway, the pros outweigh the cons. And it looks good too. :-)

Excellent bag

I wanted a slightly bigger, but not wider, taller bag when I found this product. It has many compartments that can be used very well, the 2 rear notebook/booklet holders can also be used very well. You can comfortably pack it with very few or many things. Its only fault can be that it is sometimes more difficult to pack things into the central interior due to the overfilling of the many smaller pockets inside. But that's more my fault. I highly recommend the product.

Rather comfortable urban bag

Very satisfied

It is a backpack for the city, not for longer hikes or trips

The positives have been written by others, I will write the negatives of this otherwise good backpack. 1. It can be difficult to recognize it as carry on luggage at the airport. The reinforcement of the back of the backpack exceeds the permitted dimensions by about 3 cm, which is what ryanair has. 2. Someone should get fired for those pointless side bottle pockets. Absolutely impractical, maybe a half-liter bottle can fit there, a 1l bottle absolutely not. There should have been a pocket with a strap where a 1.5l bottle can be attached. 3. There are many internal pockets, but almost all of them are on the bottom, so if the backpack is full and you want something from the pocket, then either empty the backpack or try to count it. 4. There is a mistake in the outer strap to hold anything 5. The strap slips in the buckle, which is on the top. You tighten it, it loosens if the backpack is full 6. Mobile phone pocket unusable, maybe for a small phone. 6.8 will not fit there. The backpack is excellent, but more for the city and for light trips

Seal

The components of the bag are water-repellent so that you can temporarily continue walking/hiking in light rain. Caution: this backpack is not watertight/waterproof and it does not have a rain cover. If you want to continue walking/hiking in the rain and protect your belongings, we recommend the following model: “20 to 40 L rain cover”, which can be viewed on our website, item reference 8734213.

Outer dimensions

Height : 50 cm | Width: 28 cm  | Thickness: 25cm. This bag can be used as carry-on luggage when travelling by plane as its dimensions meet the airline requirements (IATA). We recommend that you contact your airline for details of the size and weight restrictions on cabin baggage.

Tested for optimal durability

To ensure the bag is strong enough, we conduct laboratory tests on the components and seams, which replicate the long-term wear and tear that the backpack will endure. For example, for a fabric, we test the resistance to abrasion and tearing, the colour fastness when exposed to UV light and washing, and the waterproofing. We use these tests to guarantee the bags for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase on the receipt.

How to adjust your backpack?

1 - Loosen all the straps, shoulder straps, waist belt and chest belt2 - Put the bag on3 - Buckle the chest strap and adjust its height and width4 - Tighten the shoulder straps (from top to bottom)5 - Buckle and adjust the waist belt6 - Adjust it to your likingIt's all good!

How is volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment, as well as each pocket, with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.

How to fill your backpack?

Place the heavy items, e.g. laptop, picnic, etc., in the bottom and in the spaces provided. Pack your clothes around these items. Put the small belongings that you will use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc.) in the pockets. Put the water bottle(s) in the outer pockets on the sides that are made for this purpose.

Product testing

It’s in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc, that our design team conceives, designs and creates Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. This backpack has been tested and improved by hikers in different climatic conditions and different environments.
