About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT500 AIR only weighs 3.7 lbs and can contain a total volume of 50 liters which we recommend for a trip over 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extral 10 liters of volume.

The bag has a 60 L volume with an extra 10 L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %. The side pockets: the side of the closures is not practical. A lot of straps with closure system: too thin and too small (big finger), which makes a problem of the "practical" system, already without gloves, if we have to use the gloves, we can only remove them to open any part of the bag. For the straps of the compartmentation, I cut them, more annoying than practical.
The bag is of very good quality, the carrying is very pleasant, I recommend it
comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded
I have used it for months and I am very satisfied. Whether it is sufficient or not varies from person to person, of course, but for me it was sufficient in every camp I went to. The only problem I experienced was that the tent hanging part loosened a little by itself, but other than that it did not cause any problems.
I really like the pocket on the front which makes it easy to grab products from the bag
The bag is extremely high quality, it has many compartments, its color is already incredibly gorgeous, it has very good back support, so you can walk for long hours as if you don't have a bag on your back.

It's okay, but it has a pocket on the front that closes with a velcro and not very well. The top part is kind of loose on the sides. The truth is that I can't change it anymore because I had to use it, but we didn't like it...

The best backpack I've ever had, very functional, has many practical pockets, handles and solutions. Extremely roomy and comfortable to wear.
The quality is amazing
If you have a maximum of 15 kg of material, this is the best bag to buy. It is not possible to buy a bag of this quality that has made a name for itself in the market for less than 10k. 8 pockets are more than enough. Shoulder straps are supported with thick sponge. If your chest measurement is more than 110cm, the whistle strap that connects the shoulder straps may be short.
Good product from Decathlon, best return for your money and highly recommended.

Air design
As with the MT900 UL line, the MT500 AIR range has a ventilated back structure with mesh fabric (net fabric) that helps the back to breathe and dries quickly. Rigidity is guaranteed by a reinforced frame. The back is adjustable with a release strap that’s easy and quick to use.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
