Good value for money

Merino that does what you expect from Merino. Fragile for maintenance.

hot in 1st layer…

warm in 1st layer practical front opening

Excellent for outdoor activities

I use this product as a first layer for all my activities (walking / hiking / cycling). It's a bit big (I'm 1m80) so I took S. It dries quickly, doesn't smell of sweat and is very comfortable. It's quite thin though, but a good second layer will provide warmth.

Good

Mountain Trek Sweater

The Trek Montagne sweater is comfortable to wear. The colors are nice. As for me, I took black. For its warmth and odor management function, nothing to report as far as I'm concerned.

collar much too loose

Rest is still being tested fabric very thin and scratchy

merino zip neck

Excellent for mountain biking, gravel skiing and at work in cool weather. Good value for money.

Very good product

Keep very warm, be careful, the wool is a little itchy. Otherwise very good

Super warm

If the warmth is too strong, be careful that it will overheat when the temperature rises.

Best thermal base layer

Best thermal base layer I ever purchased. Although it’s on the costlier side, it provides great comfort and warmth and moreover it’s lightweight. I used it in my trip to Europe where temperatures were around -1C to 3C. I was able to manage with a thermal base layer and a shirt and a jacket for -5C to 0C temperatures.

2nd layer Merino

Long-sleeved T-shirt often used as a second layer under a short-sleeved Merino T-shirt depending on the temperature, especially in winter.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 86.0% Wool, 14.0% Polyamide ; Yoke: 98.0% Wool, 2.0% Polyamide

Odour control

The components used reduce bad odours. Laboratory tested to standard ISO 17299-3.

Reduction of the freezing effect

After exercise and sweating heavily, Merino wool prevents evaporation helping to maintain body temperature by absorbing the majority of the body's moisture. This therefore reduces any unpleasant chilling effect.Conversely, a synthetic material lets the body temperature go back down again faster.

Tip before use

For a softer feel, wash your t-shirt before first use.

How to wash your t-shirt made with merino wool?

We recommend that you machine wash your MT500 MERINO ZIP T-shirt at 30° on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry flat and NEVER tumble dry unless you want it to shrink by one or two sizes! For more information: https://support.decathlon.co.uk/how-to-maintain-a-merino-wool-garment

Product testing

In November 2018, 8 trekkers (4 men and 4 women) and part of the Forclaz design team tested this T-shirt for four days in the Southern French Alps (Lus La Croix Haute). You can expect wind, rain, a bit of snow, a bivouac... and a lot of fun! We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for mountain trekking use.
