Great value for money

Comfortable, very light and you can feel the insulation with a very good lining, it keeps you warm. The only drawback was that I first bought an XL size and I had to change it for a L size because there is a huge difference between the two. There should be a size in between.

Why wear a down vest?

A vest keeps your core warm by insulating the chest, neck, and lower back, which are sensitive to chills. Sleeveless, it reduces backpack weight, improves breathability during activity, and allows freedom of movement under a jacket. Worn beneath the MT100 down jacket, it provides an additional 11°F (6°C) of warmth compared to wearing the jacket alone.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

Down filling offers three key advantages for mountain sports:- **Thermal Insulation:** Trapped air in the down and feathers provides excellent warmth.- **Ultra-Lightweight:** Down is lighter than synthetic insulation while offering the same warmth, reducing backpack weight.- **Ultra-Compressible:** Down compresses easily, saving space in your pack.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

Fill power measures the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its ability to InchtrapInch air, expressed in cubic inches (CUIN). Higher fill power (a higher CUIN number) means the down occupies more space, traps more air, and provides better insulation. This down vest, with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN or more (international standard).

How to care for a down and feather vest?

The down jacket is suitable for winter wear and will need occasional washing. However, washing it less frequently helps maintain its thermal insulation and water repellency.**Our advice:**1. Machine wash at 86°F (30°C) using a detergent for down or technical garments, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Use a gentle spin cycle between 800 and 1,000 rpm.2. Tumble dry on a cotton setting with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Repeat 2 or 3 times until completely dry.

Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water-repellent property of a fabric allows water to run off its surface without being absorbed, preventing the fabric from swelling and keeping it lightweight and warm. This down jacket features a water-repellent fabric, but we recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The water-repellent treatment (PFC-free) on the outer surface can degrade over time with use. We suggest restoring this property after each wash.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

After washing your padded jacket, we recommend using a water-repellent reactivator spray to maintain the outer fabric's hydrophobic properties. This will renew the fabric's water resistance and optimize its performance throughout the life of your garment.

A snag? here's how you can repair your sleeveless down jacket

A tear in a padded jacket can occur while trekking, but it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent further damage and stop feathers from escaping. If you're not comfortable making the repair yourself, don't worry—some Decathlon stores offer a repair service using a heat-bonded patch to fix your jacket.
