Product Customer Reviews
I liked
Two years of daily use in the mountains where I live, and also when I go down to the city. I've used many brands, but the Decathlon Qechuas never disappoint (within their category).
After purchasing it, I said to myself, "I'm glad I bought it."
Unlike the average man with a feminine foot, I have a regular, masculine foot, so the narrow, narrow shoes that are fashionable today don't fit my foot. But this is great! It fits my foot well, it doesn't pinch, and the length is just right! Comfortable and very beautiful shoes! Please keep making them for a long time, because they are a very good shoe! And I would like to buy more of them!
I have been using the shoes for 7-8 months now. I actively hike in the mountains and took them with me on trips abroad. First, the advantages. The sole is very good and grippy, it almost does not wear out. The shoes are very comfortable and did not rub even after many hours of hiking. They also worked great in the rain, and even on wet grass covered with dew or rain. Unfortunately, the shoes have one major flaw, namely almost zero breathability. I always try to choose the right socks to ensure this breathability, but in the case of these shoes, the feet sweat mercilessly, and after the first week-long vacation trip to the mountains, where they were put on every day for the whole day and dried overnight, unfortunately, they started to stink and required washing and impregnation. And it is known that almost every shoe after cleaning and re-impregnation does not have the same properties anymore. In general, I recommend the product but only for weekend trips because with prolonged use they collect a lot of moisture and do not dry quickly enough to be used every day for a longer period of time.
Having been a D4 shoe subscriber for years, and currently preparing for yet another long-distance hike (this year, it will be 850km in 5 weeks), I have just completed 3 urban cycle rides (so as not to get them too dirty! lol) to test these new shoes. Overall positive opinion, but the heel tends to leak, and I fear that in the long term, this will cause premature wear of the padding, and more annoyingly, overheating and blisters on the Achilles tendon. But question: after 3 rides and around 50km covered, am I still within the "satisfied or refunded" guarantee conditions? Because first of all, to know if I am satisfied, I have to try them ;-)
Top car does the job! Wet grass / spongy ground => dry feet! top! The only problem is the membrane => I point out the limit of the "plus" of this product. From 15°C ambient, my feet suffocate. In short, the waterproof membrane strongly limits breathability => it is not a 4-season shoe. But below 10°C... and even more at 0°C and below = pure delight! Pure efficiency! Thank you Decathlon! :-)
I already love the shoes very much. I bought the model for snow and I liked it very much, but I also liked this one very much. It is very comfortable to walk in and I tried it. There is only a sound in the left pair when walking, so I will change it. I am happy with everything else.
excellent shoe, comfortable and light waterproof without any problem. walk nothing to complain about.
Good walking stability and easy to tie shoelaces. The shoe feels solid and provides a stable ride even when loaded with weight. The thickness of the sole and the grip are well balanced. Occasional jogging or running will do the trick. The only thing is that the shoe last is a bit narrow, and it will feel too tight when wearing thick socks in the evening. It would be even better if there was a wide last version.
Fantastic shoes
practical because they are low and less imposing, they are more versatile
Comfortable, size is okay, I highly recommend it!
I didn't expect them to be so comfortable. Two longer trips in the mountains are already behind me and I'm super happy with the shoes, the cushioning and grip are very good.
I didn't expect these shoes to be so comfortable for me to walk in. I've already had two longer trips to the mountains and I can't find fault with them. Great cushioning, grip and very comfortable.

What is your hiking frequency and intensity?
We have classified our products in terms of performance and features for 3 levels of Mountain Walking:- occasional: around ten hikes per year of about 3 to 4 hours’ duration, less than 6 miles and less than 2,000 feet of elevation gain.- Regular: about 20 outings per year. 4 to 6 hours, 6 to 12 miles, 2,000 to 4,000 feet of elevation gain per outing.- Intensive: more than 20 times a year. More than 6 hours, more than 12 miles, 4,000 to 6,500 feet of elevation gain per outing.
Sole: outdoor contact
New high-performance sole with our new exclusive rubber blend developed by our experts. More grippy, more resistant. The sole is designed for better grip using 3D simulations and then laboratory tested to assess the coefficient of grip on different surfaces and conditions.
Waterproofing test
In a laboratory, the boot is immersed in water to mid-height on a mechanical arm that flexes to simulates a number of steps. With this test we can determine a time and number of km that the boot can walk while staying dry. Then we confirm in the field or under the rain, that the shoe meets its promises.
Extending waterproof performance
To keep your feet dry, we advise you to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of your boots and prevent water, pebbles and sand from getting in.We advise re-waterproofing your boots twice a year using a re-waterproofing agent which will help you restore the original water-repellent qualities and help prevent stains on the outside.
Product design: our expertise
Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for designing your mountain walking products and providing you with all our expertise.
Which size should i select?
Some Decathlon stores have a test route.1. Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces, taking care to correctly balance the tightening.3. Check two points:- the heel does not come up before the boot when you walk uphill.- the foot does not slide and the toes do not press against the front when going downhill.4. Try on several sizes and models.Break them in gradually to adapt them to your foot.
How do you avoid blisters?
Blisters generally develop when the skin is weakened by friction. In order to prevent them from occurring, we recommend the following: - Choose a shoe in your size.- Wear suitable socks- Tie and tighten your shoes properly.- Make sure you tighten or loosen your laces accordingly while wearing your shoes, especially before starting a climb or a descent.- Wear your shoes on a short trip for the first use.
Which socks ?
A waterproof shoe will be less breathable than a non-waterproof shoe. Mid-length socks like the MH500, MH520 and MH900 are therefore preferable for absorbing perspiration and reducing overheating.
Optimise your boot’s capacities: replace your insoles.
The original insole in your boots is designed to accommodate most feet. A change of insole can bring:1. Improved support: some soles are preformed or reinforced to better support the arch of the foot. 2. More comfort: the insoles can also provide heat and/or cushioning.3. Longer life: restore the support and comfort of your shoes by replacing the insole each season.
Product testing
To meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the mountains in conditions you will encounter during your hikes. Our teams, as well as a tester panel (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers), test products throughout their development until they go to market.
