Affordable and durable hiking pole

Satisfied with my purchase. Only one small regret about the adjustment of the wrist circumference because I would have liked to be able to tighten it more.

use for 10 days…

used for 10 days to go around Mont Blanc, just too heavy on the other hand very practical for storage.

Great!

very good price-quality ratio, Convenient adjustment of the length of the poles. The poles make mountain walking very easy :)

Alright

I use them for bivouac hikes and on steep slopes to compensate for the weight of the bag and relieve my joints. There are lighter ones but the quality/price ratio is great.

Perfect

very practical retractable stick

Super

I did not expect this quality for this price. I walk on mountains, slopes, asphalt. It is very easy to use and adjust. I am glad I bought it. I recommend it.

It's ok

Tested in the mountains, good adjustment. I am 181 cm and they are enough. On one of the trips, children used the poles, thanks to the adjustment they worked well.

Good

A good, light pole. It worked great on a multi-day hike in the mountains. When folded, it is short enough to not be a problem when strapped to a backpack. I recommend it.

There is not much difference between them and the non-comfort model

I think you should not buy the comfort model. The price is almost twice the normal one, but I think there is no big difference except the grip part. You can change the grip rope of the non-comfort model with a velcro you buy from the market and reach the same comfort. I also have quecha batons at home and I have been using them for a long time. Even those old batons shake less. I think forclaz's batons are not as good as the old quechas. They did not please me on long walks. They made my arm tired more because they shook. If you can go from the normal model to comfort, I recommend that you spend a little more and buy a higher model or do not buy the comfort. It is sturdy and does not bend, but it shakes compared to the old quechas.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Shaft: 100.0% Aluminium ; Handle: 100.0% Polyurethane

How it was designed...

This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. This model uses the chassis of the A100, which we have Inchreinforced Inch to get it ready to take on the mountains! It retains the push-pin adjustment system and over-sized tubes. However, it can be set higher (130 cm), has an adjustable wrist strap, essential for support, an elongated foam handle for multi-position grip and a tungsten carbide tip to withstand rock.

How to adjust your poles to the correct length?

Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this: - pull the lower part until the push-pin locks (lower metal button) - slide the middle tube until the upper button reaches the desired hole- use the lines printed on the tubes to align the push-pin with the holesNever go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.

Directions for use

This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between arms and legs.To be on the safe side, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your baton is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. Do not put on your backpack in case of a storm. Some users are sensitive to the whistling noise that can occur when the wind sweeps through the adjustment holes.

Care tips

Proper maintenance of your baton will ensure that it functions optimally and that it lasts longer. After use, if water has penetrated the stick, remove the strands and allow to dry. If necessary, clean the dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the strands. We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.

Why is the pole sold individually?

At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.

Accessories sold separately and adapted to this model

The advantage of buying Forclaz trekking poles is that you have a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy it for as long as possible.Hiking pole caps: ref. 8580865Summer baskets : ref. 8503854Winter baskets: ref. 8503857Replacement tip: ref. 8577675 or 8577677 or 8755646 (if new screwable version)Lower section MT100 COMFORT: ref. 8642203

Product testing

To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During its development, each model undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, three-point bending, etc.) until it breaks. We also tests parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated in production to ensure a constant level of quality.

Storage instructions

Store the baton in a dry place without tightening the adjusting systems, so that they are not strained and retain their clamping power.
