I wore it on 2025/1/22 to Laojun Mountain in Henan Province. The temperature was -6 below zero, with sleet and snow. I used a trekking pole and it didn't slip. It was warm and waterproof. It was really worth the money.

Mid-range shoe at a reasonable price

Nice design with average quality. The goal is not the duration of use but mainly the permeability and the conservation of heat in anticipation of very cold weather!

Quechua boots

I've been using them for 3 years and I really regret wearing boots until now. I love them and they're the only ones I'll be using for my next pair of boots, although I have to say that they're 5* in every way. They've never gotten wet, they're warm, they're very comfortable and they look as if I just bought them.

Very good! Comfortable, non-slip, holds the foot!

It couldn't be better!

Additional Product Information

Composition

Upper of: 60.0% Polyester, 5.0% Polyamide, 35.0% Polyurethane ; Outer sole of: 70.0% Synthetic Rubber, 30.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

Can you be sure that your boots are warm enough for your winter hikes?

Based on field and laboratory tests measuring cold perception with a panel of users, we assess the thermal insulation of our shoes at different conditions: stationary (static) at 27°F and moving (dynamic) at 12°F. This provides you with an accurate gauge of the temperature range in which these shoes offer protection. The comfort temperature ratings for your shoes are provided, considering differences in cold sensitivity between men and women.

How do your boots protect you from outdoor conditions?

Your shoes are equipped with a membrane to ensure optimal water resistance. This very fine component (between 5 and 25 micrometers) is affixed to the inside of the fabric, preventing water from entering while allowing moisture to escape. While you stay warm in your shoes, your feet will also remain dry. Additionally, the outer sole and midsole provide insulation from the cold contact with snow.

Breathable boots for optimal thermal comfort

Thermal comfort is a balance between the warmth of the boots and their breathability. Excessive heat or inadequate breathability can lead to moisture buildup and cold. We have designed your boots with your activity in mind, whether occasional or regular, incorporating a membrane that prevents water ingress while allowing moisture to escape.

How can i be sure that my boots are 100% waterproof?

We ensured your boots are waterproof by conducting laboratory tests that simulate walking with the boots partially submerged in water. Additionally, we performed field tests to assess wear and aging.

What is the difference between traction and grip?

The traction of the boots depends on the number and shape of the studs. The grip is influenced by the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, much like the tires on your car. Traction enhances propulsion, prevents the boot from slipping backward on inclines, and stabilizes the boot. Grip helps prevent slipping and skidding on smooth surfaces or in challenging conditions (such as rain, snow, or ice) by providing the sole with effective traction.

Which type of grip and traction does this boot provide?

Equipped with SNOWCONTACT soles, your shoes are designed for maximum grip and comfort during hikes on snow. The location and height of the 3mm crampons are strategically spaced for optimal traction. The surface and arrangement of the studs are designed to grip hard snow effectively and evacuate excess water, reducing the risk of slipping.

How does the snowcontact technology used on the boot sole help me?

SNOWCONTACT soles feature a specialized component and stud pattern designed for superior grip and traction. They offer better performance on snow compared to traditional soles. For optimal safety on ice, it is recommended to add anti-slip grips to your boots.

Will your boots withstand regular use over the long term?

Our engineers perform laboratory tests to ensure that the product meets your satisfaction in use. Our checks include:- Eyelet and strap tearing- Gluing- Toxicology- UV resistance- Abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components- Accelerated aging

How do i choose the right footwear for snow hiking?

To gear up for winter, we recommend following these principles:- **Warmth:** Opt for warm socks, ideally with a suitable percentage of wool.- **Breathability:** Select socks based on the intensity of your hike, ensuring you choose a breathable model to minimize moisture.- **Boot Height:** Match the sock height to the height of your boot upper. For more protection, prefer higher sock models.

Product testing

Our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory in Lille plays a key role in the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It focuses on four main areas, each equipped with specialized tools and technology:- **Body Shape** (including 3D analysis)- **Movement Science**- **Thermal Comfort** (with four climatic chambers)- **Behavioral and Sensory Sciences**We specifically test seam strength, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, and abrasion resistance.
