They cook the feet

Just as I say that I don't get my feet wet when it rains, I must also say that they don't ventilate either, it's like putting a plastic bag on your feet for hours... a shame.

Quiet hike

It's bliss with dry feet, light grip, take 1 size above otherwise compressed feet

Very good shoe

I already had the previous model. I just bought the shoe in size 41 without trying it on. It fits me perfectly, keeps me nice and warm, is waterproof and looks really smart. I'm going to buy another pair.

Good waterproof hiking shoes

My negative point is the grip of the laces. These are difficult to keep in the hooks, laces too big or hooks too small...

Lightweight and durable

Comfortable for mountain walks, but can also be used in urban environments

What frequency and intensity of hiking?

We have classified our products in terms of performance and features for 3 levels of hiking:- Occasional: around ten hikes per year, each lasting 3 to 4 hours, covering less than 6 miles with less than 2,300 feet of elevation gain.- Regular: about 20 hikes per year, each lasting 4 to 6 hours, covering 6 to 12 miles, with 2,300 to 4,000 feet of elevation gain.- Intense: more than 20 hikes per year, each lasting over 6 hours, covering more than 12 miles, with 4,000 to 6,500 feet of elevation

Outdoor contact sole

Featuring a high-performance sole crafted with our exclusive rubber blend, developed by our experts for improved grip and durability. The sole’s grip is enhanced using 3D simulations and lab-tested to measure traction on various surfaces and in different conditions. Final validation is done through real-world mountain testing with a panel of testers

Waterproofing test

In the lab, the shoe is submerged in water up to mid-height and flexed by a mechanical arm to simulate walking steps. This test measures how long and how far the boot can go while staying dry. Field tests, including walks in the rain, then confirm the shoe’s waterproof performance.

Extended waterproofing

To keep your feet dry, we recommend using waterproof gaiters or mini-gaiters to protect the tops of your boots and prevent water, pebbles, and sand from entering.Re-waterproof your boots twice a year with a waterproofing spray to restore their original water-repellent qualities and reduce exterior staining.

Product design: our expertise

The Quechua global design center is located in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This prime location brings together our teams—designers, product managers, engineers—and outdoor sports enthusiasts, creating an inspiring space for developing hiking products and sharing our expertise with you.

Which size should i select?

The most important thing is to try on multiple sizes and styles of boots to find the best fit for you! Consider going up a size to prevent your toes from hitting the toe box on downhill sections, as long as the fit still provides enough support to avoid friction.Tip: keep your toenails trimmed, and before a long descent, check that your laces are snug enough to prevent your foot from sliding forward inside the boot.

How to prevent blisters

Blisters often develop when friction weakens the skin. To help prevent them, we recommend:- Choosing the right shoe size- Wearing appropriate socks- Properly tying and tightening your shoes- Adjusting your laces as needed, especially before a climb or descent- Breaking in your shoes on a short outing before a longer hike.

Which socks?

A waterproof shoe typically offers less breathability than a non-waterproof one. For optimal moisture-wicking and reduced friction, we recommend socks like the MH500, MH520, and MH900, which feature a medium upper.

Optimise the capabilities of your boots: replace your insoles

The original insole in your shoes is designed for a wide range of feet. However, switching to a different insole can offer several benefits:1. Enhanced Support: Some insoles are specifically shaped or reinforced to provide better arch support. 2. Increased Comfort: Many insoles offer additional warmth and cushioning for a more comfortable fit. 3. Extended Lifespan: Replacing the insole each season can help maintain the support and comfort of your shoes. Inch

Product testing

Our hiking shoes are first tested in our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, which also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together several themes, each with their own area and technological tools.
