This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between arms and legs. To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During its development, each model undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, three-point bending, etc.) until it breaks. We also tests parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated in production to ensure a constant level of quality.

For this price I recommend them with a clear conscience. They worked great during two weeks in the Tatras.
The pole is generally satisfactory, but the quick-release system at the bottom has one major drawback: it makes a metallic noise with every step, an annoying *tic-tic*. On rocks, this isn't a problem, as it blends in with the natural sound of the tip hitting the stone. On softer terrain, however, this metallic noise breaks the silence of nature and can become particularly irritating. While the quick-release mechanism is practical and well-designed, its constant noise significantly reduces its comfort of use.
Very practical stick, easy to adjust, easy to store when no longer in use!
good for longer trips in the mountains
I recommend it after three years of use, only in one the foam peeled off, but a drop effectively fixed it
They are worth it. The basic ones are fine, but for a little more you have these and the quality/price ratio is definitely worth it.

used for mountain hikes the poles are solid and have sometimes saved me from falls. once folded they slip easily into a backpack. only small problem is sometimes you have to tighten a screw that maintains the height of the pole.
I bought them in Reunion for hiking in the cirques and they do the job perfectly!

Very practical, useful, easy to handle and comfortable. The only thing I would improve is that it could be folded more (made smaller) and that the upper tube had the same support as the lower one.
I use it for mountain hiking and ultra marathon runs. I can say that it is the best product that can be purchased for this price.
The best poles I've ever had. Light, quick to fold and unfold. Very mobile once folded.

This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc.The starting point of our design is the external locking mechanism for precise and fast adjustment. Combined with a push-pin that unfolds and folds automatically. Then we designed a handle that allows multiple grips: along the tube for climbs and banking terrain, with the wrist-strap for efficient pushing and on the knob for descents.Then we use our best 7075-T6 aluminium for controlled weight
How to adjust your poles to the correct length?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this: -pull the bottom strand all the way out until the auto push-pin (metal button) locks - open the lever of the external blocker - slide the tube to the desired length - close the lever Never exceed the STOP line to avoid the risk of breaking the pole.
Directions for use
This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between arms and legs.To be on the safe side, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your baton is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. If you notice that your pole tends to slide down, the locking mechanism turn ring needs adjusting. Open the lever and turn the knob a quarter to a half turn.Do not put on your backpack in case of a storm.
Care tips
Proper maintenance of your baton will ensure that it functions optimally and that it lasts longer.After use, if water has penetrated the stick, remove the strands and allow to dry. If necessary, clean the dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the strands.We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.

At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
