Product Customer Reviews
Excellent
It takes up very little space and can be easily packed. Adequately warm and windproof. I haven't had the chance to try water repellency yet, but actually if there is heavy rain, I would wear the hardshell or some other rain protection anyway. It doesn't have a hood, but I chose it on purpose because my bottom layer has a hood. The elastic at the wrist is good and the bottom can be pulled together well. The size is a little big, but the one smaller was very tight on me.
Perfect Fit.
Good cut
Good, but not for intense cold
Lightweight hiking jacket. In extreme cold, it may not be enough, but it is suitable up to 0.5.
Convenient and compact, perfect to keep in a handbag during a walk out of town
Grade 10. Very good.
Practical down jacket, not bulky and relatively warm. Good compression inside the pocket. So as to avoid losing the bag that was supplied on the other models. To also obtain the windproof and waterproof effect I wear the MH500 jacket over it.
Comfortable to wear, well cut, it remains a light down jacket with limited thermal input
Perfect for my use
I use it on a daily basis for walking or riding my motorbike. It is comfortable and light. It is not very warm, but it is enough. I think it is equivalent to 600 cuins. It has a very elegant cut that goes well with sportswear or jeans.
If you look for a comparable mid-layer, you'll quickly end up paying double or triple the price. The jacket is comfortable, warm, easy to pack away, and does what it's supposed to. Great!
The fit, with a very tight size, is really excellent on dry bodies. The heat retention is good even for cold climates (but not for rigid ones), despite the lightness of the garment.
Very nice transitional jacket, light and warm

How warm is this padded jacket?
This down jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F (-5°C), during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°F (5°C) in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.
How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Summary: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°C, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
A snag? how to repair your fleece
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
