Straight forward as described , easy to put up once you untangle the folded tent to allow it to open up
Useful
This is my 2nd purchase of this tent… the first one has seen better days after 10 years of abuse. The material definitely keeps you cooler than conventional tents and the light stop lets you have an afternoon annd ensures you don’t wake up at dawn. Totally waterproof, compact, easy to put up and down - excellent purchase
I was really impressed with this tent when using it for the first time in fair weather - quick to put up, easy to pack away, the black out fabric kept the tent both dark and cool. However it is absolutely USELESS in the rain due to the design. The canopy does not anywhere near shelter the door, so it's impossible to get in or out of the tent without flooding the inside and getting all your sleeping gear soaked. For that reason, I would highly recommend you consider another design.
I've had mine several years now and no signs of wear. I've used it in heatwaves and the fresh and black technology really does work to keep the interior cool. The ventilation is also very good. I've used it in a downpour that went on for 2 days and 2 nights solid and it stayed as dry as a bone. Nice and roomy for a 2-person tent. Handy features like pockets and a hook to hang a light from. Putting it up really does take seconds which is a huge bonus in wet weather. Packing it away takes a bit of practice but easy once you get the hang of it and a lot quicker than taking down a normal tent.
Thought that the ability of this tent to maintain darkness and coolness was over exaggerated but I was so wrong. Even in a 33 degree heatwave the tent remained fairly cool and dark throughout. Surprisingly roomy as well! Can’t recommend this enough
The tent goes up in seconds, but needs to to put away. It's very black inside...be wary if you're claustrophobic!
In the heatwave I ended up going camping. Oh boy was it hot, but the inside of the tent was nice and cool, thank goodness! Very pleased with the purchase. The morning dew was no issue for the fly sheet.
I recently lost a leg and have been looking for a tent to replace my much loved Vango Banshee. As you can imagine ease of use has become quite high up on my list when buying a tent. Never really considered pop ups until now so after much searching gave this one a go and wow. 3 days of gale winds and rain, and bone dry inside. Black out is great for sleeping in and listening to the rain. So easy to put up and take down. I managed on one leg and didn't take any longer than 5 minutes either way. After 50+ years of camping, honestly one of the best tents I've ever owned.
I hesitated for a long time between this model and the more expensive "easy" version. I had already had a 2 second tent in the past and it was really complicated to store. I tried it again anyway and this time, I find it much simpler! There are colored straps to help and with a video tutorial the first time, it's really simple. The habitability is still as good and you can open several places in the tent to ventilate. The Fresh & Black system works wonderfully. This tent is still at the top :)
Very good. It's really dark in there even in direct sunlight.
After extensive research and comparison, I decided on the QUECHUA Fresh & Black - 2 Seconds pop-up tent for 2 people, and when I tried it out, I was immediately impressed by both its design and technical construction. However, while bouldering in the Eifel region, water started seeping in the first night, which I unfortunately didn't notice until I woke up in my cold, damp sleeping bag.
This tent has served me well during my bivouacs. It's not super compact, but it's easy to unfold when you're tired. It takes two seconds to set up, but it takes more like five minutes to fold down; that's still decent.
On the plus side - well made, quickly unfolds, great blackout. One big minus - size/height. Two people sleeping on the mattress makes it veeeery tight.
Great buy, a little more space inside would have been great.
Additional Product Information
Composition
Double roof: 100.0% Polyester ; Inner fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Floor mat: 100.0% Polyethylene ; Pole: 100.0% Glass Fiber ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyester
Assembly/disassembly
Rapid set-up. Freestanding tent (you place it wherever you want once set up and, if there's no wind, you can use it with no pegs = direct use!). Folds up easily thanks to the Easy guide system.
Ventilation
Flysheet with 2 side panels that can be extended and fixed with side guy ropes (opening from the inside). The air can circulate in the sleeping area. The entire rear sleeping area flysheet can also be lifted from the inside by pulling on a rope. 2 spaces between the flysheet and the ground on each side in the middle of the sleeping area to allow the air to be refreshed and limit as much as possible the natural phenomenon of condensation. Fresh concept reduces the sun's heat.
Protection from the sun
The Ti0² -coated fabric is SPF 50+. Please note: a large amount of UV radiation can enter through a single open door. Protect your skin with suncream.
Waterproofing
All Quechua tents are laboratory-tested (entire tent under 200 L/sqm/h for 4 hours) as well as field-tested. (Polyester 200 mm PU-coated flysheet, polyethylene groundsheet 4.2 oz/m², all seams sealed with heat-bonded strips). The presence of a breathable polyester sleeping area under the flysheet prevents contact with the condensation water droplets that can settle on the inside of the flysheet.
Wind-resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly assembled tent with all the guy ropes properly positioned around the tent should remain habitable in wind speeds of up to 30 mph measured near ground level (Force 6).
