Protects the hiker and the bag well

As expected, it protects very well from showers, the things in the bag were very dry.

designed for walking but very versatile

It is designed for walking, but it also protects the upper part from rain and wind while riding a motorcycle or cycling.

Beautiful

A useful product unless exposed to rain for an excessively long period of time.

Good protection in the rain, bag included

Mandatory backpack equipment for the mountains

Nice cut, sufficient water resistance (not to be confused with waterproof), drawstring hood, space for a backpack, cutout for hands to reach the pockets of the layer under the cape.

Very comfortable and well-protective cape

It works very well in various conditions. I am glad I took the larger one as it is loose and you have a lot of movement underneath. It protects the backpack and legs very well.

A very useful thing

It's hard to find anything better for a downpour. The hiker is safe with his backpack and what's more - inside the cape he has a dry "enclave" where he can use water-sensitive items like a paper map or electronics. Waterproof to the medal and no leaks.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. This is so well-designed for the multi-day hiker going through rainy weather - I would take this any day of the week over a rain jacket! It protects your head, upper body AND backpack. Sure my gear is in a waterproof liner but who wants a wet backpack in the tent? This is complete coverage at very low weight. Only complaint is a lack of pit zips for quickly dumping heat, but the large chest zipper is really effective too. Bonus hack - if the rain is on and off, put the poncho on and then slip it back off the head so it's resting on the backpack. Now it's super accessible for the next shower. I'm 6'2" with a 40L backpack - the L/XL is excellent.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane

Fit and sizing information

Good coverage for hikers between 157 and 173 cm in height (size S/M) or 174 and 190 cm (size L/XL) and carrying a 60L maximum backpack. Hood can be tightened thanks to elasticated drawcord and stopper toggle. The ends of the sleeves are cuffed with an elastic binding that prevents water from entering your sleeves. This rain cape is easy to get on and off thanks to its long front zip which slips easily over the head.

Additional recommended products

To complete your outfit, we recommend overtrousers or waterproof gaiters to fully protect your lower legs. For greater breathability, the waterproof hat can also be attached to the poncho!

Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours).

Waterproofing of the garment

This garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 litres of water / m² / hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.

Component breathability

Our rain poncho and cape ranges do not come with a waterproof/breathable membrane. Therefore, we recommend calm, gentle use to reduce perspiration rather than fast hiking!

Component water resistance

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed throughout the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes). All Quechua ponchos and capes have a water-repellent treatment.

Care

We recommend you use a re-waterproofing product (spray or liquid)To renew the fabric's water repellent-properties and optimise the garment's performance throughout its lifetime.

Storage instructions

Long-term storage: dry thoroughly and fold in its bag.
