I bought this bag for my trip to Australia. I used it as a cabin suitcase, super practical! Several compartments, enough to put a padlock to lock it, a passport pocket, enough to put a water bottle and a rain cover! I recommend it!
The backpack is absurd!
Compact but well-designed backpack, so you can fit quite a bit of stuff in it with plenty of compartments. The design is also very well done.
The capacity of the backpack is exactly that of a typical hand luggage suitcase. The backpack is suitable, on the plane, for the overhead bin. It slightly exceeds the required dimensions in depth but in the overhead bin (Easyjet) it fits perfectly.

It's not its purpose, but even after 30 minutes it's uncomfortable to wear.

I did the third trip, the Camino de Santiago, with the 40L Decathlon Travel 500 backpack and it was incredible. It is robust, comfortable and very well designed for those who travel for several days carrying everything on their backs. The suitcase-style access makes organization much easier, and the compartments are functional and useful – a protective rain cover that also served to protect/transport the sleeping bag. The volume of this one can be a problem. The Decathlon quality is very evident and during the trip and in various conditions it did not show any signs of wear. Great quality/price ratio.

I really liked this backpack! The coolest thing was that you could organize everything very well in the bag, so all your belongings were in order and easy to find. The only thing I thought could be better is that the bag felt a little heavy when empty. The inner compartments could also be a little deeper to have more space for your belongings. However, I would definitely recommend this bag to others! It is very practical and looks good too. I used it on my trip to Tenerife, and it survived all four flights without any problems. I could be sure of my belongings, because the bag is durable and high-quality. Plus, I didn't have to worry about rain, because the bag has water-repellent material and even a special rain cover! Overall, the price corresponds to the quality, I would even say that it is very good. The seams, fabric and zipper are of high quality and will probably last for many years! If you plan to fly, use it as hand luggage, you can't rely on these dimensions, all my flights were successful, but the last one made me check if the dimensions match, everything was compactly packed in the bag, so good luck!

Begin by adjusting the lumbar belt. The bag's weight should sit mainly on your hips. Then tighten the shoulder straps to bring the bag's weight towards your back. Attach and tighten the chest strap then tighten the smaller straps above the shoulders so that the back sits perfectly on your back.
Protect your bag in the rain
The backpack has a rain cover to protect the contents of your bag when it rains.
How to maintain your travel 500 backpack
- Empty the bag completely- Remove the foam and frames from your backpack if possible and if you are sure you are able to put them back again afterwards- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust from the bag and the zips- Put the bag in a bath, shower or a wash basin- Use a stiff-bristle brush or a sponge if you have a small backpack- Wash the bag with soapy water and scrub any stains.
