Nice
Bought for a pressie for my sister, whom is very happy with it when she is out walking
Broke on first use. I bought it last year as I am starting to have pains in my knees when walking or running down the mountains. I used it this month for the first time and last time. I was hiking in the Pyrenees. It folded when I was falling and needed support from that pole. And then the metal was so dammaged that it just broke. I was expecting the pole to help keeping my balance. Instead, it just folded like a very bad quality piece of metal. I am lucky it happened after I finished running down. I could have finished in a hospital with broken legs or knee injury. Instead my skin got scratched and I bleeded. That would never have happened with a normal pole. Worse quality ever. Do not use it for trailing, it is dangerous.
Pretty basic - they held up for my trek.
I chose this hiking pole as it looked no nonsense , well made and a good price, I bought a pair for an upcoming trip ,so not fully tested yet .
Great pole very lightweight but supportive
This was the very first time for me to use hiking poles. Bought them after reading that hiking poles reduce the stress on the legs when hiking and it was accurate. Poles were extremely helpful when going up and down. I put a lot of pressure on them as I was exhausted after hiking for 24 hours. Really good stuff. It's good that I went to store and I could select and check them before buying. Highly recommended. No problems at all.
This is a brilliant walking pole for the money. Lightweight, easily adjustable and good grip. It was a knee-saver on our Cornwall hikes. I literally couldn't have managed without it. Some reviews mentioned the 'whistling' and I did get a bit sick of Jethro Tull's greatest hits by the end of the holiday! It gave us a good laugh and I shoved a bit of tissue in the holes which quietened it! Bargain.
These are highly reliable and their height adjustment mechanism is my favourite feature; the push-pin adjustment is very easy to use and adjust even in thick gloves during winter. Certainly not as lightweight as the higher end carbon fibre poles but not a major issue to me. I have used these for years on regular basis and on several multi-day backpacking treks on the mountains in the UK. I have also used them in snowy winter conditions alongside an ice-axe. They might bend under sheer pressure, for example if stuck in a hole and pushed at the top, but that's likely when other poles might break. In the wind, expect some whistling because of the holes!
I have a used these to go up Snowdon. Without them, I am not sure I would have made it. Luckily I had duck tape to cover the holes. 6+ hours of flute noises would drive you nuts. That is the only thing that needs fixing with these, and the reason I dropped a star. Some may argue that those noises warrent a lower rating.
Good grip
Wow, I was recommended by a saleswoman and I have to say that it changes everything, I highly recommend it.
Excellent support on climbs and descents!
very good quality price
light, intuitive, space-saving. the product is also resistant and comfortable
Shaft: 100.0% Aluminium ; Handle: 100.0% Polyurethane
This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. This model uses the chassis of the A100, which we have Inchreinforced Inch to get it ready to take on the mountains! It retains the push-pin adjustment system and over-sized tubes. However, it can be set higher (130 cm), has an adjustable wrist strap, essential for support, an elongated foam handle for multi-position grip and a tungsten carbide tip to withstand rock.
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this: - pull the lower part until the push-pin locks (lower metal button) - slide the middle tube until the upper button reaches the desired hole- use the lines printed on the tubes to align the push-pin with the holesNever go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between arms and legs.To be on the safe side, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your baton is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. Do not put on your backpack in case of a storm. Some users are sensitive to the whistling noise that can occur when the wind sweeps through the adjustment holes.
Proper maintenance of your baton will ensure that it functions optimally and that it lasts longer. After use, if water has penetrated the stick, remove the strands and allow to dry. If necessary, clean the dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the strands. We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
The advantage of buying Forclaz trekking poles is that you have a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy it for as long as possible.Hiking pole caps: ref. 8580865Summer baskets : ref. 8503854Winter baskets: ref. 8503857Replacement tip: ref. 8577675 or 8577677 or 8755646 (if new screwable version)Lower section MT100 COMFORT: ref. 8642203
To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During its development, each model undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, three-point bending, etc.) until it breaks. We also tests parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated in production to ensure a constant level of quality.
Store the baton in a dry place without tightening the adjusting systems, so that they are not strained and retain their clamping power.
