How would this jacket be for golf Forclaz Men's 3-in-1 Waterproof Travel Backpacking Jacket or do you suggest a different jacket?
Answer:
It depends on the weather you are playing in. This is a very warm jacket so I would only recommend it for golf if you are playing in cold and rainy conditions. Our MH900 Lightweight Windproof Jacket is a light windbreaker that would work well if it isn't super cold, or any of our lighter fleeces.

I have been wearing this for almost a year now. The inner jacket can be clipped and zipped into the outer jacket with ease. I wore this up Scafell Pike with rainfall and windy conditions in April 24 for the first time, and it was perfect. The outer jacket is a nice windproof/waterproof layer to have on over a fleece, and the inner can come on when needed, kinda like a down jacket with no hood. I have never been completely drenched or cold in this. I bought a medium, and I'm 5 foot 10 and 79kg, and it fits perfect.
You can wear the inner liner as a separate item so you can wear the items either together or individually
I have not used in the rain yet so have not rated the waterproofing. The taping on the zips is tricky to navigate with gloves on, but I realise they are designed like that to keep water out, so its a reasonable trade-off. It was nicce and warm on a chilly walk, but with only a couple of layers underneath it felt close fitting, but not tight. I am over 6 foot but not a bulky guy, so I chose the XL size for the arm length - I imagined it would be a bit loose. If you're a big guy I would definitely try it on in store first, or you may find it a bit tight once you have some winter layers on. Other than warning I am very pleased with it so far, I bought it to replace a 19 yr old coat so I hope it lasts as long.
The waterproofing lasted for about 6 months in fairly regular rain in Glasgow. That's okay because you can just refresh the proofing. For the money I think it's pretty warm, and being able to use the inner synthetic-down layer is really nice, but once it goes below 5° you're freezing your backside off. Overall lasted for over a year with regular reproofing, and no issues with stitching or anything. Good jacket for the money.
Good three in one coat. I've been using it for almost a year now and have had no problems with the waterproofing or zips. Pockets are all useful size.
really good jacket. very warm and waterproof with good inner layer
Bought for a two-month interrail trip. It kept off rain from southern Italian thunderstorms, kept the chill off during early Spring in France and kept me warm whilst enjoying a hot chocolate at Alp Grüm over 2000 m above sea level. Once or twice it even doubled as a supplementary pillow on sleeper trains. Truly the jacket for all seasons and all situations.

This jacket provides good protection against wind, rain and the cold. It appears to be well made. My main criticism is that the fastenings on the sleeves to anchor the top to the second layer protrude and rub against my wrists. This is annoying! I also don't like the way an elasticated cord runs around the whole of the bottom hem to pull in the waist and shut out the wind. It would probably be better to have two very short cords/tapes on the left- and right-hand sides.
From the previous models, I am missing the "secret" pocket in the zipper side as well as the second pocket net in the inside jacket (only one available anymore)
Not to heavy to wear for a few hours
It's a decent combo and a good purchase but I wouldn't say I'm particularly warm in it at 0, never mind -10. One of the bungee tightening cords on the inner also broke very soon after I bought it.
used for the first time this weekend . The rain just ran off. It was so warm. Absolutely love this jacket.
it is amazing how dry it kept me after riding my motorcycle with it in heavy rain for almost an hour.

3-in-1 concept for adapting to every situation
With its “3-in-1” system, the jacket is ideal for cold conditions (down to -10°C) as well as hot weather trips, as you can leave the inner layer at home, taking only the rain coat. You can also wear the inner fleece on its own as a mid-layer over a T-shirt. With just one jacket, you therefore get 3 options!
Sizing information
Standard cut. Inner volume lets you wear a second technical layer underneath, such as a microfleece top.
Adjustment
The hood is adjustable in height and depth thanks to an elastic drawcord. The storm-type hood is very enveloping and equipped with a preformed visor for maximum face protection.The bottom of the jacket is adjustable thanks to an elastic cord.The cuffs are adjustable using the rip-tabs.
Pocket system
2 hand pockets + 2 chest pockets. All pockets feature waterproof zips.2 zipped pockets on the inner jacket.
Removable padded jacket
The inner padded jacket is easy and quick to remove, thanks to a zip system. It can be worn alone and has 2 hand pockets, as well as a secure inside pocket.
