Love it

I had an accident and ripped my first one, now that’s a work jacket. Replaced it with a black one.

I wore this down jacket…

I wore this down jacket for 5 days I would say and already the seams are coming loose, revealing the padding, very very disappointed by this poor quality, I'm taking it back to the store and I hope for an exchange

Bad Accessories Used

I gifted this jacket to my husband and today the very first day he wore this jacket and we realised that the accessories used like thread zipper and all are of low quality, didn't expect this from decathlon. Disappointed Lost a loyal customer

Great buy

Warm and light. Be aware: the zipper is on the european (left-hand) side. Only change I would make.

The sizes do not match

For any jacket I have size L, for this model I need XL.

Comfortable and Warm

Very comfortable jacket - so far it's only been down to freezing here, but it was cozy at that temperature and it seems like it'll be good quite a bit cooler.

Light, comfortable, takes up little space even when worn on your body and very warm even at the start of winter.

Composition

Filling: 90.0% Grey Duck Down, 10.0% Grey Duck Feather ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Padding - Inner fabric: 100.0% Polyester

How warm is this padded jacket?

This down jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F , during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°C in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power is a measure of the down fts thermal insulation capacity and its potential to InchtrapInch air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.

How to care for a down jacket?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Summary: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°C, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimizes its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when backpacking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. You can purchase repair patches on our website!

Product testing
