I am satisfied

Very warm and comfortable fleece with large, roomy pockets. I use it for hiking in the mountains, underneath I only have winter thermal underwear and that's enough for the approaches.

Men's hiking fleece sweater - MH520 Hood

Excellent 300-denier fleece. The durability of the outer material is still questionable, but it is certain that the bush should definitely be avoided when worn without an outer shell; however, we will see how it will withstand the "stroking" of the backpack straps, back and waistband. The cut is sporty: I am 170 cm and 65 kg, with a flat stomach, and when worn over a T-shirt, the M does not fit or sag, it is just right and comfortable. (I chose the size according to Deca's multi-step size recommendation based on my physical characteristics.) The garment is also long enough, so my waist will not be exposed when hiking up steeper mountains or when bending down. The red point goes to the use of a durable, all-around abrasion resistant material on the inside of the bottom; the lack of a bottom-pull rubber is forgivable precisely because of the sporty cut. A red point for the use of lightweight material running from the middle of the back through the armpits to the wrists: it is easier to get rid of body moisture released during intense movement. I also like the extra cuff with thumb loop: it is usually useful when you don't need gloves. The side pockets - which also function as vents - are located high, and I am already glad that they will not get in the way of the backpack's waistband (I can't stand it when I can't access the contents of the side pockets of a hiking jacket because they are covered by the backpack's waistband; it is shocking that many well-known manufacturers don't seem to want to know about this anomaly). A red point for the also ventilated chest pocket: it is excellent for hiding jellies and/or chocolates, or a flatter document/card holder. Earlier, 1 hiking companion wrote that YKK zippers are very good, but they are a problem. Well, they are actually great because they are robust and - to prevent unwanted slipping - they have locks! That is partly why the hiking companion felt that they are a problem, although you just have to learn to use them slightly differently from the traditional way. So the red point is due! However, the short zipper pulls are not worth it, since it is difficult to grip with gloves, although it is understandable that - precisely because of this function - lock zippers do not usually have extensions (which fact does not rule out, Dear Designer Sports Companion, that both functions can be functional at the same time). Like all the 3D-designed panels of the product, the panels that make up the hood are also well sewn together: it is comfortable to wear with or without a hat, it is a good size (for my medium-sized head, at least), but it is not too tight under a helmet (the warm fleece lining inside is proof that it was really designed as a layer under a helmet, which is fine). It is clear from afar that the engineers did not hesitate to drag professional mountaineers to their design tables to create something really cool: the price/value ratio is by far the best in the category. THANK YOU FROM THE HEART + GREAT GRATTTSSS TO YOU, KEEP IT LIKE THIS! :-D

Everything is fine except…

Everything is good except the pockets, much too big... Incomprehensible, but the rest is great

jacket

Hello, excellent product. Keeps the person warm against wind, cold and humidity.

I recommend

My workhorse - I put it on when I go to the forest, on a bike, for a walk. My most frequently used fleece

Fleece component: insulation thanks to the air

The mission of the fleece component is to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (and the brushing of the knit). This air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. This component has been laboratory-tested for a comfort temperature from 7 to 10°C without any additional jacket.

2-year warranty

We test the ageing of our hiking fleeces to guarantee their durability. We guarantee:- resistance to wear from backpacks and moving arms to delay the appearance of pilling which is specific to this material- the solidity of the seams- the resistance of the fleece material after several washes- colour-fastness after washing, when exposed to UV or in contact with perspiration.

Where do our fleeces come from?

Created in our international design centre at the foot of the Mont Blanc in France, this fleece is then manufactured and assembled by our suppliers in China and Vietnam. We collaborate closely with these partners who have real expertise in the manufacture of our fleeces. Thanks to this relationship of trust with our industrial partners, we can create high-quality technical products.

Product design: our expertise

Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for designing quality products for your mountain hikes, and providing you with all our expertise.

Product testing

Our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together 4 themes, each with their own area and technological tools: Morphology (particularly thanks to 3D analysis) Science of movementThermal comfort (with its four environmental chambers) Behavioural and sensory sciences. Our fleeces are all tested on thermal mannequins using a standardised test.
