I bought this jacket to use as a third layer for protection from wind and rain. Good fit, adjustable hood, good protection from wind and rain. Breathability is not its strong point but it is always in the backpack in case of need because it does its job of protecting from rain/snow and wind well. The cuffs are not adjustable with velcro but have an elastic to limit wind entry. Unfortunately, ventilation zips under the arms are missing.
By folding the hood visor, water runs off the sides while maintaining visibility, it's perfect.
A bit expensive but it is as good as raincoats of similar features from other brands and much more affordable. Light, durable and stylish.
It worked well in Madeira, light and pretty. It protected against wind and light rain. I didn't test it in more extreme conditions.
It looks great and perfect for hiking
to replace my previous jacket. it is very good, but it is missing pockets that I had.
Bought for a long hike, I wore it every day in the off-season to go to work: light, very waterproof, it is well cut and its hood is well thought out
The jacket is excellent. In addition to being very beautiful, it is of high quality, good materials and good finish.

Cut
Standard cut. The inner volume allows you to wear it over a warm 2nd warm layer such as a pullover or fleece.
Hood
Adjustable height with an elastic cord and tightening toggle. Adjustable depth using a Velcro strip positioned at the back of the hood. Visor at the top of the hood for good face protection.

Membrane
The waterproof rating of a product depends on the following two main criteria: its component and its construction. This product was made with a membrane.This is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being flexible, lightweight and breathable.

Component waterproofing
Laboratory tests are conducted to guarantee the waterproof rating of a component. To this end, the resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the JIS 1092 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This product's component has a 15,000 mm waterproof rating and can withstand the pressure of a 15,000 mm water column. This is also equivalent to 15000 Schmerbers.
Jacket waterproofing
We conduct laboratory tests that simulate rainfall scenarios in order to guarantee the jacket's waterproof rating. This garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
Breathability
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. How to restore the water-repellent properties
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. The water-repellent property can be reactivated by putting the jacket in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes on low heat.You can also use the waterproof spray (ref 8554908)
