This outperforms my previous The North Face jacket that I owned hands down and at a fraction of the price! Still keeping me dry in the wonderful British weather!
I love the hood shape. Works well with layers. Good weight, doesn't stick to you like ultra light waterproofs.
Managed to keep me dry for hours during a forest hike and a severe downpour.
This is a lightweight jacket, it is waterproof. But is does not breathe. In a hike at 10°C, with just a base layer and mid layer underneath I was drenched. It just doesn’t breathe at all. The pockets are also quite small, including the internal phone pocket.
After use 1.5 year not much protect from rain ,lets say just light rain or sprinkle would resist .
It looks good and the size is right
very good considering the price
Fine for a shower of rain around the town, but it leaks at the seams in anything heavier or prolonged, it's certainly not suitable for a storm as is claimed. After 3 summers of occasional use, the waterproof membrane is detaching from the fabric.
Grand job !
Great waterproof at a bargain price
Excellent jacket. I only use it once or twice a month so not a "day to day" review but Excellent, light, waterproof, windproof and breathable. 👍
Does what it Sat's on the tin
My partner hasn't wore it yet but I is nice quality
Great value, excellent quality
Water proof and wind proof 2nd one i have bought 🙂

2.5 layer design: The membrane is glued under the outer fabric and protected inside by a fine film. We use it for lightweight jackets.
The waterproof rating of a product depends on the following two main criteria: its component and its construction. This product was made with a membrane. This is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being flexible, lightweight and breathable.
2.5 layer design: The membrane is glued under the outer fabric and protected inside by a fine film. We use it for light jacket.
Laboratory tests are conducted to guarantee the waterproof rating of a component. To this end, the resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the JIS 1092 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This product's component has a 15,000 mm waterproof rating and can withstand the pressure of a 15,000 mm water column. This is also equivalent to 15000 Schmerbers.
We conduct laboratory tests that simulate rainfall scenarios in order to guarantee the jacket's waterproof rating. This garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric This product was assessed at 10 RET
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. The water-repellent property can be reactivated by putting the jacket in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes on low heat. You can also use the waterproof spray (ref 8554908)
