Excellent Jacket but I really do recommend ordering a size up from your usual as they run a little bit small especially if you have layers on underneath Nice and lightweight goes perfect on top a base layer and mid layer. Used this for hiking in the Scottish Highlands in February and couldn’t fault it. Quality is top tier and bargain for the price paid. Also it has a very stylish design with a storm hood which is ideal for heavy wind and rain.
Big fan of this jacket. Much cheaper than others on the market and honestly, much better than the North Face one I had which was over double the price.
Great product
Excellent waterproof jacket, with good pockets and zips. The fit is quite slim so bear that in mind. Vents are under the arms. Looks and feels like a much more expensive jacket so excellent value in my opinion and I love the colour!
I had initially hiked in a light fleece with a thin non breathable rain jacket. But I wanted to improve my equipment with a fully featured reasonable weight Breathable Waterproof. My #1 requirement was pit zips - and the MH500 was perfect. There are no compromises here. The sage green looks great and I was tempted by the tomato red . All the right pockets - in well thought out places and FULLY waterproof
great jacket, good quality. love the pockets and i dont normally like hoods but this one is decent.
An extreme level of water proofing is what you get with this jacket without all the bulk. Great as a final layer when out hiking to keep you nice and dry on the inside. Nice high collar to cover face and peaked hood to prevendrwater dripping down your face
Got this as it has been recommended by numerous gear websites and is incredible! Have had it for over a year now and it has been seriously put to the test in driving rain and gale force winds many many times. The only way water gets in is up the sleeves because I use poles but the velcro strap helps with that and I stay so warm even in ice cold wind. Would 100% recommend :)

Blown away by value
It's mega windproof and waterproof. Makes me feel invincible. The huge side zip pockets and bottle pocket on the inside are very nice touches.
Make sure you size up. It's quite small.

Good waterproofing but size a little small.
Works as expected. Keeps me dry during wet season. Not warm, so need to wear extra layers underneath. Has good ventilation

Cut
Slim fit with raglan sleeves and good stretch properties for plenty of freedom of movement during your hikes. A warm layer, such as a fleece or light padded jacket, can be worn underneath.

Membrane
The waterproof rating of a product depends on the following two main criteria: its component and its construction. This product was made with a membrane.This is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being flexible, lightweight and breathable.
Layer design
3 layer design: The membrane is glued between the outer and inner fabric. We use it for durable and high-performing jackets
Component waterproofing
Laboratory tests are conducted to guarantee the waterproof rating of a component. To this end, the resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm (JIS 1092 standard).The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This product's component has a 20,000 mm waterproof rating and can withstand the pressure of a 20,000 mm water column. This is also equivalent to 20000 Schmerbers.
Water resistance of the jacket
We conduct laboratory tests that simulate rainfall scenarios in order to guarantee the jacket's waterproof rating. This garment has been inspected in a shower test under 18 cm rain for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain storm.
Breathability
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric This product was assessed at 6 RET
How to restore the water-repellent properties
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. The water-repellent property can be reactivated by putting the jacket in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes on low heat.You can also use the waterproof spray (ref 8554908)
