Product Customer Reviews
very pretty in raw carbon
I am very happy with the bike.
Very rigid bike, super playful and competitive, it responds to any route profile without the slightest problem. I was absolutely delighted with it up to about 5000kms, being a courier, the bike is used a lot so it has to be up to the task, this was the case until various cracks appeared... First at the seat post (even with carbon grease), then at the bottom bracket at each crank turn (new bottom bracket), then now I have vibrations at the seat stays when going downhill and the saddle goes down by itself... and this, even with new parts, greased and tightened to the right torque (maintenance ~1 time/week -> competitions required) I find it unacceptable that no solution is available, since in the idea of exchanging my bike, it is impossible given the zero level stock, which has lasted for several months! I hope to get a reaction and have the possibility of changing this bike, with a view to riding with complete peace of mind and safety... Sportingly Ps: I am a size XL
I can only recommend this CPR PRO. An unbeatable price for a bike that wins in the World Tour. The positive points: - Di2 group and Ultegra wheels at the top (even if I'm going to invest in a pair of lighter wheels for the mountains) - on the flat it flies - the restarts are sharp - it performs well uphill (my terrain of favorite game), even if I have not yet been able to exploit its full potential because the aero shape of the handlebars means that my knees brush or even touch when I am dancing... Therefore I am going to change the handlebars for a more classic one. But this remains a personal case (I have long legs). The only negative point (but it is far from negligible): - I had to move my saddle forward as far as possible on the rail to have the same position as on the other bikes. On many of the AG2R Decathlon team bikes we see that it is the same. It therefore seems necessary to me that Van Rysel offers, in addition to the current seat post, a zero offset seat post option. Many bike brands do this and it seems feasible to me. I will be the first to buy this straight seat post if Van Rysel offers it.
After trying several bikes over the last 5 years, I found the ideal bike. It is rigid, dynamic and, to my big surprise, comfortable. I was able to test it on all terrains (flat, hilly and high mountains) but I can't find any limits. Only the Antares saddle is not up to the level of equipment offered by this RCR Pro.
Because I'm a fan of the A2GR team, I've been riding BMC Teamachine and Roadmachine for the last 8 years or so. To clarify: it wasn't exactly the most high-end 01 models, but BMC is famous for the quality of the bikes. This year, for "understandable" reasons, I looked around for options to buy a model from Van Rysel. I have to admit that I had a bit of disdain for buying a bike in a supermarket. Of course - I have absolutely no regrets, on the contrary. From my point of view, absolutely top and perfect machine, very fast with very good handling. I think the handlebars are better than BMC. Reagent. Handy. Light.
Very good bike for going fast! Top price. Rigid as it should be, very pleasant to restart. The wheels are a very good surprise for mid-range. (light and rigid enough not to bend on the first restart). The speedometer support matching the Deda stem is provided, it's very good. (it is almost impossible to find in stores and overpriced) Weight: 7.34kg without pedals mounted tubeless with Garmin support and 30ml of liquid in each wheel. a few small downsides: - the screw cover for tightening the seat post which is not great, it looks like what you find on the specs (and that's not a compliment) - the manufacturing quality of the stem which seems very random: it seems that there are 2 different screw assemblies depending on when the stem was manufactured, one with 1 flat washer and very short screws (creepy), the other with 1 conical washer , a flat one and long screws, on my bike, 2 of the 4 conical washers were crushed reduced to a piece of sharp metal because the plates which hold the handlebars had a defect... (I realized these differences when purchasing a whole set of stems for a postural study) - we would have liked to be able to choose the length of the cranks, the stem and the width of the handlebars before purchasing.
I have used this bike in competition for around 2000km since purchase and it is great! I'm really satisfied, it responds well, rigid, aero, I was skeptical about the wheels but ultimately they are great! A bike that reacts well at high speed and climbs perfectly on bumps BRAVO!!
After 9 months with the bike I am delighted with it. A very light bike with super competitive components. The bike looks stiff and responsive. On descents it gives me a lot of confidence, today if I had to buy a new bike I would definitely choose the same one again.
It's luxurious
Overall, it's a good bike, value for money. To see the quality of everything over time…. The carbon frame gives reflections, like the beginnings of cracks. Also to be seen over time if it does not deteriorate. Be careful when assembling the half-coasters of the handlebars, because even when tightening below the standard of 5Nm, two screws and a half-coaster were badly damaged (completely crushed material of the cover and washers of the two screws hs). Hoping that the after-sales service will take this into account and exchange the damaged parts for me. If so, I will increase the quality/price ratio.
Very good value for money
Overall Incredible bike A simple error during assembly (reversing the stem bridges) damaged the stem but replaced by after-sales service so good point. On the other hand, a little disappointed to have received it with an old version Fizik Antares R5 saddle which causes me loss of sensation where it doesn't feel good (no opening) while current customers receive the new version of the Antares (open to avoid my problems) and in R3 therefore more upscale... Also the bike is delivered with non-ventilated pads which are noisy at the front despite maintenance with specific products. I'll check on L05A if the problem goes away. Also the cover of the seat post tightening system is frankly not at the height of the bike
It's a very good bike but... To begin with I received the bike with the cracked frame. + one week wait for frame change. The headset cover touched the frame but it was impossible to fit 0.25mm extension washers. The tires were quickly removed as well as the handlebars and the saddle. Not even ventilated pads for 5500 while they are on the EDR in 105 mechanical at 2150.
