Pioneers of the Summits
Simond has equipped expeditions since the very beginnings of mountaineering. Simond was right there alongside the pioneers behind the first climbs of Everest, Annapurna, and many more
1950 - 1st summit of Annapurna by Mauriec Herzog and Louis Lachenal |
1953 - 1st summit of Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay |
1964 - 1st summit of Mt. Huntington by Lionel Terray |
1964 - 1st summit of Les Drus by Walter Cecchinel |
A Family History
It all starts over 150 years ago with the Simond brothers, all blacksmiths and rockhounds. They worked with iron and wood, so adventurers turned to them to create the equipment needed to explore the massifs
Even still today, SIMOND equipment is developed and tested on the ground by the most demanding: the professors of the ENSA -- the French National School of Skiing and Mountaineering -- who train the next generation of mountain guides.

Focus on innovation
To optimize all your gadgets in your every situation, we perfected our patented Spider latching system. In offsetting the male part of the Keylock system from the beak of the carabiner to the digit, the opening is completely freed up. A snagless system for optimal fluidity.
